APO-DHAHRAN is prominent as an institution in the mainstream of Alpha Phi Omega. The first time I knew about APO-Dhahran Alumni Association was thru the internet: specifically thru our e-group. One would read Brethren from APO-DHAHRAN very often on the e-group. Moreover, Key players from the APO-DHAHRAN e-group would readily reply to postings on the internet, ever ready to extend a helping hand. The next instance was during the 3rd APO-ARME Conference that was held in Al-Quwaim, U.A.E. last December 20008 together with then Bro. Pres. Ronald Sambilay (EPSILON KAPPA, 1990), Advisers PRAD Bro. Ver Guevarra (BETA, 1971) and PP Bro. Mon Macrohon (BETA NU, 1973) who was then elected as RAD. The said conference is a memorable one, aside form it was my first to attend the ARME Conference, I was also nominated and elected as Deputy Regional Administrative Director. In addition, followed by personal visits by Bro. Zacks Tagayan(ZETA TAU, 1984) and PRAD Ver Guevarra to Kuwait while I was staying with APO-Kuwait Alumni Association.

Furthermore, I was able to gel with APO-Dhahran Alumni Association by personally affiliating upon my arrival on June 5, 2009. I was fortunate enough to avail of a slot that was made available thru the referral of APO Brothers and Sisters in the APO-ARME & APO-DHAHRAN e-groups (maraming maraming salamat po mga kapatid). Since I have met Bro. Zacks Tagayan earlier during his frequent visits in Kuwait, I was able to get hold of him and Bro. Cypz Rodas (ALPHA GAMMA, 2004) who picked me up at Mc-Donald’s Thoqbah Branch, which was near my company accommodation. They then formally welcomed me at Bro. Mon Macrohon’s place (who was then in his annual vacation) together with brothers and sisters who were staying over the weekend. It was a very pleasant welcome since it also coincided with the weekly liturgical services headed by Bro. Bob Manansala (ETA, 1971) and Bro. Egay Verginisa (GAMMA ETA, 1978). One by one, I was able to to meet brothers and sisters of APO-DHAHRAN thru the frequent services and fellowships. And to top it all up, I a fortunate to make up and complete the BIG BROTHERS’ HOUSE together with ARME RAD & APO-DHAHRAN President Bro. Mon Macrohon (BETA NU, 1973) and APO-DHAHRAN Adviser Bro. Rene Dumaual (PI, 1972). With this short narration, I would like to extend my firm and warm handclasp to APO-Dhahran Alumni Association in embracing 25 years of Leadership, Friendship, and Service in the Eastern province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Everybody wants to be famous, but nobody wants to do the work. I live by that. You grind hard so you can play hard. At the end of the day, you put all the work in, and eventually it’ll pay off. It could be in a year, it could be in 30 years. Eventually, your hard work will pay off
